Greetings, I’m Joel Amiri Mitchell, a 2025 Ed Bradley Fellow and a 2024 Florida News Award Finalist in Political Reporting, with a B.S. in Broadcast Journalism from Florida A&M University.

A little about me: Joel is a Producer with a passion for storytelling and serving diverse communities. His personal brand embodies his authenticity: enthusiastic, determined, helpful, and grounded. He’s not afraid to challenge himself in new learning environments and can adapt to change in fast-paced settings.

He produces, edits, shoots, and reports stories with intention. His passion for journalism is simple: to inform, engage, and serve as a voice for underserved communities. He uses his skills to act with urgency and attention to detail, balancing digital, broadcast, and print content.

Joel aspires to work at the highest quality, driven with purpose and curiosity. He plans to become the best version of himself, both as a Journalist and as a person.

When he’s not working, he’s active. He enjoys traveling, exercising, and cooking, and considers himself a music enthusiast.
